Looking for financial support (step 3)

You have already filled in the first and second parts of the self evaluation questionnaire (steps 1 and 2). You are now ready to think about possible grants. Below are some possibilities to find a grant:

1. Initiatives from the European Union
   The European Union has a special programme for the training and mobility of researchers (called Marie Curie actions). It offers individual grants such as Intra-European Individual Fellowships, Incoming international fellowship, Outgoing international fellowships, European Reintegration Grants and International Reintegration Grants. You will find a table summarising these possibilities at the page of Marie Curie actions on the website of the European Union.  For more information on these grants, we recommend you consult the Work Programme of  'Marie Curie actions' and the handbooks for 'individual-driven actions' or 'return and reintegration mechanisms'. These documents are available at the Cordis website.
   You can also contact your National Contact Point for Marie Curie actions.
   
2. Other initiatiatives
   Within the European union: the researcher's mobility portal of the European Commission provides information on national possibilities for research grants and jobs in all EU countries.
   Outside the European Union: the Norwegian Research Council has started a program for farm animal welfare (under the "Food" program).
   
3. Specific positions offered by host institutions
   Research groups involved in Welfare Quality of the network Measuring and monitoring farm animal welfare may offer specific PhD or post-doc positions. If your details match their requirements, the Training and Mobility help desk will contact you.                                                        
4. Advertisement - Training and RTD opportunities in meat quality and safety
