Research Programme Welfare Quality® project

Activities in Welfare Quality® are defined and clustered in complementary Sub-projects. The main advantage of defining and establishing Sub-projects is that it facilitates effective integration and interrelation of the specialist expertise and effort required to ensure a critical mass of resources, multidisciplinary skills and activities for the achievement of ambitious, clearly defined scientific and technological objectives.

The research subprojects are:

Sub-project 1 Consumers, retailers and producers concerns and requirements for animal welfare and welfare friendly products.

Sub-project 2  To develop robust on-farm welfare monitoring and information systems for selected farm animal species.

Sub-project 3  To define integrated, knowledge-based, practicable species-specific strategies to improve farm animal welfare.

Sub-project 4  To implement a welfare monitoring and information system and the welfare improvement strategies developed.
